Praise for Ellen Waterston's Vía Láctea:
"[Vía Láctea] is such a refreshing change from the countless blogs that clutter the internet and fill the pages of second rate books. Many pilgrims who walk the Camino reach some form of new understanding of their life and its direction. A fair proportion of these wish to share their insights but words don’t lend themselves easily to describe the inner workings of the soul. Great sensitivity is required and this is where Vía Láctea bridges the gap so skillfully between the sacred and the mundane. Poetry is the language of the soul and this collection is beautiful in its entirety. I was particularly taken with this peregrina’s description of the end of her journeying at Finisterre, the end of the world. ‘…where the horizon of her life intersects with the void.’ This is sublime. Vía Láctea should be in everyone’s backpack, or at least on their bookshelf." ― John Brierly, author, A Pilgrim's Guide to the Camino de Santiago, and the premier series of Camino guides, www.caminoguides.com
About the Writing Ranch
Based in the high desert of Central Oregon, the Writing Ranch, founded in 2000 by award-winning author and poet Ellen Waterston, is dedicated to supporting emerging writers through workshops, retreats, seminars and one-on-one in-person or online tutorials.
Ellen Waterston, an author, teacher and speaker, recognizes the need for providing writers with opportunities to improve their craft, and the importance of taking time either in workshops or a retreat setting, away from daily demands, to focus on writing and writing goals.
The writing workshops, conducted in a variety of inspirational settings, offer writers many opportunities to improve as poets, fiction and literary nonfiction writers.
